"I grew up in the rainforest. The interplay of colour and light in the house of my childhood remains vivid to me, where the family table was always laden with fruit and flowers.

Outside, tropical gardens, and the nearby reef inspired a vision which responds to an exotic world. My paintings are about sensation, including taste, smell and the imagined poetry of gentle sounds. By making pictures I externalise my private world of experience and open the silent voice that lies within art. This can be like saying a prayer."
